Barrenjoey House joins The Boathouse Group.

Media Release: 2 July 2018

The Boathouse Group is pleased to announce the addition of a new venue, Barrenjoey House, to its hospitality offering.

The venue will continue to trade as Barrenjoey House and the lunch and dinner core restaurant offering will remain the focus of the business.

“We are looking forward to providing a restaurant style experience for our local cafe guests. Our customers have been calling for a reservation style venue and Barrenjoey House delivers just that. We will be continuing the table service style of the restaurant and will offer bookings, while also welcoming guests on a walk-in basis”, said owner Andrew Goldsmith.

It is the Group’s intention to simply re-energize the space. The menu will be simple, fresh, contemporary classics.

“We will inject a fresh mindset, fresh team, and fresh ingredients, and our team are looking forward to working on a different concept”, said Andrew. “We have long admired the building, location and feel of Barrenjoey House. It is a personal favourite Palm Beach destination and we don't want to get in the way of these attributes.”

“Barrenjoey House has a long and significant history, and we are lucky to have been handed the torch, we take the responsibility to carry on Brendan and Jenny Barry’s legacy very seriously,” said Andrew.

The venue aligns nicely with the Boathouse Group brand and complements existing business offerings and infrastructure, while strengthening the Boathouse mission of providing a classic Australian seaside experience.

“The Group will unveil both The Boathouse Hotel Patonga and Barrenjoey House, separated only by a 10- minute ferry ride, in time for Summer”, said Andrew.

Barrenjoey House will be closed from July for maintenance, repair and interior updates, and re-open in time for Summer.

Barrenjoey House is a Palm Beach institution; we are excited to maintain this iconic venue and share it with locals, and day-trippers.

We hope to see you soon and thank you for your support.
